Who will be the next high school prospect to make a commitment to the University of Tennessee?
That is the question that Vol Nation has right now, with several names circulating as possibilities, but no one knows for sure who it will be.
One possibility is Memphis Melrose athlete Tino Thomas.
InsideTennessee.com caught up with Thomas Monday evening to see how recruiting was going for him.
“I’m really close to making a final decision,” Thomas said. “I plan on making my decision known in the next three weeks or so.”
Thomas had planned to take an unofficial visit to Tennessee this past weekend for the Oregon game, but was unable to attend.
“My dad had to work and I couldn’t make it last week,” Thomas said. “We want to make it up this weekend for the Florida game if everything works out.”
It appears that there is one school that is on Thomas’ mind more than others.
“Right now everything is about the University of Tennessee,” Thomas acknowledged. “I watched the game on television, I loved the way they came out strong in the first half.”
Does Thomas have a favorite?
“Tennessee is definitely one of my favorites, in fact they are currently sitting on top,” Thomas said. “They are looking real good with me right now.”
Thomas is ranked as a three-star prospect and rated as the No. 86 overall wide receiver in the nation.
According to Thomas, he is being recruited by the Vols to play the cornerback position.
He currently has offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Duke, Memphis, and Mississippi State.
