Another SEC honor for Tobias

Tennessee basketball player Tobias Harris was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week by the league office Monday.

It is the second time this season that the Dix Hills, N.Y., native has garnered the award, having also received it on Nov. 22.

In Tennessee's only game last week - an 86-56 victory over Middle TennesseeTobias Harris scored a game-high 21 points while leading the team in steals with three. In addition to shooting .600 from the field, and .778 percent from the foul line, Harris also was a perfect 2-for-2 from 3-point range against the Blue Raiders. His six rebounds were second-most among all Vols, and he also dished out a season-high three assists and added a blocked shot.

For the season, Harris leads the Vols in scoring (16.7 ppg) and minutes played (26.8 mpg) while ranking second in rebounding (5.8 rpg). He is the SEC's sixth-leading scorer, and his solid play is a primary reason the Vols (6-0) are one of only 19 remaining undefeated teams in NCAA Division I.

With this latest honor, Tennessee players have now received 25 SEC Player or Freshman of the Week awards during the Bruce Pearl era (2005-06 to present).
