Tennessee picked up huge commitment here Wednesday night when Vero Beach offensive lineman Marcus Jackson selected the Vols before a nationally televised audience at the Under Armour All Star game.

Derek Dooley and his coaching staff had to overcome the Miami Hurricanes not once but twice to secure the Florida native. To convince Jackson to go to Rocky Top was definitely a job well done.

Jackson left his official visit to Knoxville last month with a big smile on his face and with Tennessee as his leader.

"Tennessee is all about family up there," Jackson said on national television. "Coach Dooley is building something special there and I want to be a part of it."

The long time Miami commitment began wavering when Randy Shannon was fired and gave new Hurricane Coach Al Golden a chance of winning his services.

Jackson is a very powerful offensive lineman that drives his opponent off the ball. He gets off the ball well, he initiates contact, and he can push them well off the ball. His strengths are drive blocking, power, and the way he fires off the ball. He still has a lot of room to improve in pass protection, foot placement, and his size in not ideal for everyone. He is a very good interior OL that can open holes for RBs.
