Clear, depending on what recruiting service you look at, is rated as either the number two or number one overall prospect in the Volunteer State.
Clear's love for Derek Dooley and Charlie Baggett are two main reasons he chose stay home and represent his home state.
"It's about family, it's about Coach Dooley being a man of high character," Clear said in regards to his decision. "They made me feel completely comfortable there, it felt like home."
Clear, a 6-foot-6, 270-pound athlete, will play tight end for the Volunteers.
"Coach Dooley and I had a long talk about that," Clear said. "He made it very clear that they wanted me to be a tight end in their offense. That was really important to me."
