His accuracy was a little better Wednesday night, as he finished 16-of-38 en route to 48 points. It wasn't enough to produce victory, however, as DeRoyal Industries beat The Knoxville News-Sentinel 111-109.
McRae scored six consecutive News-Sentinel points in the final 1:19 to whittle a 109-103 deficit to 110-109 but missed the front end of a two-shot foul with his team down 111-109 and 4.4 seconds left. He purposely missed the second shot but failed to hit the rim, a violation which gave DeRoyal the ball.
Vol teammate Skylar McBee drained three consecutive 3-pointers at one stretch but finished just 4 of 13 from the field en route to 13 points. Former Tennessee standout Wayne Chism scored 17 points for the News-Sentinel. Wales native Ryan Kilmartin, who is walking on at UT after a two-year stint at Appalachian State, was 0-for-3 from the floor and scoreless.
Tennessee junior Kenny Hall hit 9 of 15 shots and scored 22 points for the victorious DeRoyal squad.
