SEC picks

The SEC East race could start to take shape this weekend, with the division's top three teams all facing road tests.

Defending East champ South Carolina (3-1) visits Mississippi State, Georgia (3-1) drops in on Vanderbilt and Florida (2-2) travels to Auburn.

InsideTennessee's staff went a combined 19-5 on last week's SEC picks. Danny Parker, Chris Price and Randy Moore went 5-1 each, while Josh Woodward checked in at 4-2. Price continues to lead for the season at 42-9.

Here are their projections for this week's games, plus their year-to-date records:

S. Carolina at Miss. State: It will be interesting to see what the Gamecocks bring to the table without Stephen Garcia, but I don't think it will matter much this week. Gamecocks, 38-13.

Alabama at Ole Miss: The Tide are unstoppable. They may not be ranked No. 1, but I definitely think they are the best team in the country. They get the win and have a full head of steam for the Vols next week. Tide, 30-10.

Florida at Auburn: If Florida had John Brantley I would give them this one, but Auburn is very scrappy and always seems to find a way to win. I will take the Tigers at home. Auburn, 31-28.

Georgia at Vanderbilt: The Bulldogs are in control of the East and I don't see them ruining it against Vandy. Dogs, 45-13.

LSU at Tennessee: You would like to think the Vols can play with this team, but they simply can't. Derek Dooley has lost his All-SEC safety, receiver and quarterback in a matter of several weeks. It is just not Tennessee's year. Tigers, 42-17.

Alabama at Ole Miss: This one should get ugly early and give the Crimson Tide more momentum heading toward Tennessee week. Alabama, 45-9

Florida at Auburn: Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey and a solid Gator 'D' should be enough. Florida, 30-21

Georgia at Vanderbilt: Don't see Aaron Rodgers' little brother being able to save the day. Georgia, 24-10

S.Carolina at Miss. State: Marcus Lattimore and the Gamecock ground game carries the visitors to victory. S. Carolina, 17-14

LSU at Tennessee: Top-ranked team in the land shows it deserves to be No. 1 for the first BCS rankings. LSU, 31-8

Alabama at Ole Miss: The Tide could play its second team and still win this game. But it won't. Bama, 34-10

Florida at Auburn: Arkansas exposed the Tigers last weekend, and Florida saw the tapes. Gators, 31-21

Georgia at Vanderbilt: The 4-2 Dawgs have gotten their act together after an 0-2 start. Mark Richt's seat is cooling a bit. Georgia, 27-7

S. Carolina at Miss. State: The Gamecocks aren't as good as they looked last weekend against Kentucky. The Bulldogs aren't as bad as they've looked all year. Upset special: Miss. State, 20-17

LSU at Tennessee: Stranger things have happened than the Vols beating the Tigers ... but not lately. LSU, 27-10

Alabama at Ole Miss: 48-10, Bama pounds Ole Miss. Heck, a JV game would be better to watch than this game.

Florida at Auburn: 28-24, Gators in a close one. This is a great matchup to me.

Georgia at Vanderbilt: 35-10, Bulldogs riding high in the SEC East

S. Carolina at Miss. State: 24-17, Gamecocks with the win. It will be hand off left and hand off right to Lattimore.

LSU at Tennessee: 28-20, LSU. Hard to see Tennessee beating this LSU team without all its horses. Recommended Stories
