The most attractive matchup finds Georgia and Florida meeting in their annual "outdoor cocktail party" at Jacksonville. South Carolina at Tennessee, Arkansas at Vanderbilt, Ole Miss at Auburn and Mississippi State at Kentucky also boast some intrigue, however.
Josh Woodward and Randy Moore went 5-0 on last week's SEC Picks, while fellow IT staffers Chris Price and Danny Parker checked in at 4-1. Their predictions for this week (with season records in parenthesis) are as follows:
CHRIS PRICE (51-10)
Arkansas at Vanderbilt: This won't even be a contest. I know some people are high on Vandy, but I am not. Hogs 38-10.
Ole Miss at Auburn: Auburn just knows how to win games. I know Ole Miss has improved over the last few weeks, but they won't be able to top the Tigers. War Eagle 31-17.
Georgia vs. Florida (Jacksonville): Looks like John Brantley will able to make his return this week. If that is the case I think that Florida can get the job done. Gators 27-13.
Mississippi State at Kentucky: Wow, battle of the doormats. I have no idea. Mississippi State 7-5.
South Carolina at Tennessee: I am trying to defend my title this year and it might not make too many people happy, but I can't bet on a freshman quarterback who has never had an SEC start. USC 24-13.
DANNY PARKER (49-12)
Arkansas at Vanderbilt: Too much Tyler Wilson for the Commodore defense. Arkansas, 43-20
Ole Miss at Auburn: Rebels still reeling from heart-breaking loss to Arkansas. Auburn, 24-13
Georgia vs. Florida (Jacksonville): The Bulldogs make good use of the clear edge they have at quarterback. Georgia, 20-10
Mississippi State at Kentucky: State's quarterback should continue to progress and build some confidence with this matchup. State, 34-6
South Carolina at Tennessee: Vols have their best half of football this season, hold on late. Tennessee, 22-21
RANDY MOORE (48-13)
Arkansas at Vanderbilt: Thirty-nine thousand screaming Commodore fans won't be enough to offset the Razorbacks' passing attack. Hogs, 31-14
Ole Miss at Auburn: The Rebels played Arkansas tough last week, whereas the Tigers were hammered by LSU. This is a new week, though. Auburn, 31-21
Georgia vs. Florida (Jacksonville): The Dawgs shut down Tyler Bray and they'll shut down John Brantley, too. Georgia, 24-20
Mississippi State at Kentucky: The Wildcats proved vs. Jacksonville State they can beat a Football Championship Subdivision team. Can they beat a Football Bowl Subdivision team? Not this week. State, 21-13
South Carolina at Tennessee: Justin Worley, say hello to Melvin Ingram (5.5 sacks) and Jadeveon Clowney (5.0 sacks). Gamecocks, 20-13
JOSH WOODWARD (48-13)
Arkansas at Vanderbilt: 28-10 Arkansas gets a big win over the best Vanderbilt team in the history of the world.
Ole Miss at Auburn: 34-20 War Eagles pull one more leg out of the chair Houston Nutt is sitting on.
Georgia vs. Florida (Jacksonville): 33-31 Gators look like the better team this year.
Mississippi State at Kentucky: 35-10 Bulldogs grab an easy win over the worst team that Kentucky has had in a long time.
South Carolina at Tennessee: 24-20 Vols grab a big win for Dooley and staff. Justin Worley looks good and gets Da' Rick Rogers the ball.
