Tuesday, Dooley, recruiting coordinator Terry Joseph and new defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri all took a trip to Lafayette, La., to visit with three-star defensive tackle prospect Jacoby Briscoe.
"Everything went really well during my in-home visit with Tennessee," Briscoe told InsideTennessee. "I met coach Dooley, coach Joseph and coach Sunseri. They were down yesterday, and I had a really good time with them."
Briscoe confirmed that he would visit Tennessee officially over the weekend after getting a short introduction to what the Vols had to offer from defensive backs coach Terry Joseph.
"I watched a video on coach Joseph's iPad as an introduction to Tennessee because I really didn't know a whole lot about them," he said. "We really just started talking this weekend."
Briscoe also got a glimpse of Tennessee's new defense under newly hired coordinator Sal Sunseri.
"They told me how they were running the 3-4 defense and where I would fit in and stuff like that," Briscoe said. "It really doesn't matter to me what defense that I play in as long as I get a chance to play. That is all that matters to me."
Briscoe maintains that he is still committed to the Hurricanes, but wouldn't miss out on another visit just in case they have something special.
"I want to see how everything is," he said of Tennessee. "I want to see what is better than Miami and what is not. I don't want to regret not going on the visit, so I am going to go and check it out. I am still committed to Miami, but I do want to see how things are at Tennessee."
Stay tuned for more on the recruitment of Briscoe following his official visit over the weekend.
