Game Film: Check out 2014 four-star defensive end Andrew Brown…
Brown Enjoys UNC Atmosphere
"I love the UNC atmosphere," the 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive lineman from Chesapeake (Va.) Smith said. "I always feel welcome." Previously, Brown, a Tar Heel fan growing up, has attended the past two spring games as well as a preseason practice. "I had fun," Brown said of Saturday's visit. "No matter what, the coaches are still going to show me love – not only as a player, but as a young man, as well." As soon as they arrived on campus, Brown and his parents were greeted by Randy Jordan, who recruits the Tidewater Area for UNC. Jordan escorted them to Fedora's office for a quick conversation with the Tar Heels' first-year head coach. From there and throughout UNC's 45-38 victory over Maryland, they were chaperon by Marcus Berry, UNC's Director of Player Personnel. "[Jordan, Fedora, and Berry] just told me how glad they were to see me," Brown said. This season the only other school Brown has visited is Virginia. Many of the nation's top 2014 prospects, including fellow Virginians Da'Shawn Hand and Quin Blanding, have announced a favorite schools list in recent weeks. Brown says he's close to following suit, though he won't reveal exactly when his will be announced or who will likely make the cut. "I'll have a top ten soon," Brown said with a laugh. "I have to create suspense." Brown will have more time to devote to the task since Brown's junior football season recently came to a close. Last Friday, in the third round of the VHSL 6A playoffs, Smith lost 14-10 to Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes. On the season, Brown accumulated approximately 15 sacks and 55 tackles for a loss.
