Sixteen Vanderbilt players make up the first senior class to ever play in two consecutive bowl games during their Commodore careers. Leading up to the Music City Bowl, VandyMania.com will look back on each senior's career. In this segment Eddie Foster is featured.
THE BASICS:
16 Eddie Foster
Hometown: Colleyville, Texas
High school: Heritage
Position: CB
HT: 5-10 WT: 172
Chose Vanderbilt over: Boise State, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Ole Miss, Northwestern and Utah.
OVERVIEW:
Eddie Foster has been a regular in the Commodore secondary since he first arrived on campus in 2009. That year he saw more action on the defense than any other Vandy freshman. Foster was a durable player, he played in every Commodore game during his career except for (sadly) the Tennessee game this season. While Foster wasn't the best player in the Commodore secondary he can be proud of the fact that he has been a key cog in the widely respected Vandy secondary over the past four years.
BEST MOMENT:
September 18, 2010 at Ole Miss. After taking a 7-0 lead over the Rebels in the second quarter, Vanderbilt hoping it can keep Ole Miss from answering the score. Eddie Foster make a huge play and not only stops the Reb offense but scores a touchdown after intercepting a Jeremiah Masoli which he returns 21 yards. Vandy will go on to win 28-14 for one of the few bright sports during Robbie Caldwell's only season as head coach.
MEMORABLE QUOTE:
"I started to pull especially when I saw number 2 going vertical, I saw him starting to roll out and kind of looking at that stop. I didn't really think he would throw it but I broke on it anyway, which I might get in trouble for later. But, I broke on it and got there just in time and had a clear run to the end zone." Eddie Foster on his pick six against Ole Miss on Sept. 28, 2010.
HONORS:
2009 Team Special Teams Player of the Week

Tackles: 92
Tackles for loss: 7
Tackles for loss yards: 13
Sacks: 1
