MarQuez North

Rated a four-star prospect and America's No. 12 wide receiver recruit by FOX Sports NEXT, this young man brings an NFL body to Tennessee's program.

Marquez North proved equally productive running the football and catching it during his days at Mallard Creek High of Charlotte, N.C. As a junior the 6-foot-4, 215-pounder averaged a mind-boggling 22.8 yards per carry and scored three touchdowns on just 18 rushing attempts. He also averaged 25.6 yards as a receiver that fall, parlaying 36 catches into 922 yards and 10 touchdowns. North's numbers slipped a bit as a senior in 2012 but he still managed 682 yards and 18 TDs on 45 rushing attempts, along with 322 yards and seven TDs on 20 receptions. Those numbers earned him recognition as I-Meck 4A Conference Player of the Year, Associated Press all-state and selection to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Also an accomplished track athlete, North won the Junior Olympic 110-meter hurdles title age 12. His father, Ramondo, played college football at North Carolina A&T and went on to represent the the Tampa Bay Bucs in the 2003 Super Bowl.
