TCU Targeting Evans
The TCU Horned Frogs hit pay-dirt in the 2013 class when they landed Auburn, AL star, Cameron Echols-Luper. Now, the Frogs have turned their attention to another mega star from the same school, Rashaan Evans. The 6'3" 215 pound LB is at the top of the list for TCU, but then again, he's at the top of everyone's list. "It's been going pretty good, I'm just getting to know a lot of coaches and talking to them and stuff like that" said Evans. "I think I have 22 or 23 offers and they all like me as an outside linebacker." With the perfect blend of size and speed, it should come as no surprise that Evans has hauled in offers from programs such Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, South Carolina, UCLA, TCU and many more. So have any schools separated themselves from the pack yet? "Yeah, I would say Alabama, UCLA and Florida State are pretty much standing out right now" said Evans. "I'm still looking at others but those three are standing out to me." With former teammate Cameron Echols-Luper signing with TCU in the 2013 class, Frog fans are holding out hope that TCU has a shot with the ultra-talented defender. So do the Frogs have a shot? "Yeah, I'm actually looking into TCU since me and Cam are pretty close and stuff like that" he said. "He's pretty much just told me about the school and how they do things down there." "He said its real laid back and he also told me that it's small so I could get more one on one time with my professors and that's really important to me" said Evans. "I know if I go to TCU I'll get that one on one time and that would help me a lot." Evans continued. "I'm looking for a place that I can play early but I also want to make sure it's a place where I can develop; I don't want to go out there too fast if I'm not ready." Although he hasn't set any visit dates yet, Evans says that he would love to see TCU if he gets the opportunity. "Oh definitely, I would love to come down there and check it out" he said. "Maybe for a camp or something, yeah, I would like to do that." While it looks like a long shot for the Frogs at this point, the fact that the lines of communication are open would have to be viewed as a big plus for TCU right now.
