Tennessee (25-7) used its defense to jump-start both halves and entertained a crowd of nearly 7,000 with an 83-62 win over Oral Roberts (18-13).
All 10 players for the Lady Vols logged minutes and all scored, led by 18 points from Meighan Simmons, 13 from Ariel Massengale and 11 from Bashaara Graves.
The Lady Vols shot a scorching 53.8 percent in the second half and squashed any chance of a Golden Eagle upset in the first round. Tennessee is now 20-0 in the first round in games played in Knoxville.
Oral Roberts was led by Kevi Luper, who tallied 20 points. Taylor Cooper and Savanna Buck added 15 points each.
The Lady Vols prevailed on the glass, 48-39, and had 18 assists with six helpers from Massengale. The Tennessee bench outscored its counterpart, 31-7. Jasmine Jones and Isabelle Harrison both have seven points in relief.
Tennessee will next face Creighton, a 61-56 winner over Syracuse in Saturday's first game.
Tipoff between the Lady Vols and the Bluejays is set for 7 p.m. Monday.
