InsideTennessee is your hot spot for the latest in Vol athletics. Check out this breaking news on the 2015 football schedule:

InsideTennessee has confirmed through sources that Tennessee’s football team will play UAB at LP Field in Nashville during the 2015 season.

The game is set for Sept. 5, 2015 and will serve as the Vols’ season opener.

This is the second neutral-site game Tennessee has scheduled under athletics director Dave Hart. He previously announced that the Big Orange will play Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2016.

Hart has made clear that he likes neutral-site games and hopes to schedule several in the coming years.

Tennessee has a 4-0 record against UAB, most recently beating the Blazers 32-29 in a two-overtime game at Neyland Stadium in 2010.

Tennessee last played at LP Field against North Carolina in the 2010 Music City Bowl. The Vols also played a neutral-site game there against Wyoming in the 2002 opener.

IT will provide more details as they become available.
