While the coaching staff in Knoxville won't slow in their recruitment of the Scout five-star until he steps foot in classes on The Hill in January, the wide receiver's saying that had to be taken as a positive.
The Lovejoy (Ga.) High School star visited for "Orange Carpet Day" last weekend and walked away saying his relationship with Tennessee coaches continues to improve.
"It's good," Williams told InsideTennessee. "It's getting better. It's stronger now. They're like father figures to me now."
The OCD event wasn't a pressure-packed deal, rather a chance for coaches and prospects to rub elbows and just enjoy being on Tennessee's campus.
"I did the bean-bag toss and went 3-0," said Williams, who teamed up with his fiancé to take down other female pairings.
According to Williams, teams made up of Tennessee commits and targets weren't up for the challenge: "They didn't want to play me; they were scared."
The Scout No. 1-rated wide receiver in the nation pledge to the Big Orange back on Sept. 20. At the time, Williams didn't know who his quarterback this signing class might be. That changed on when Boerne, Texas, signal-caller Quinten Dormady became the first of seven players to commit to Tennessee this June.

Williams met Dormady on Saturday: "Yeah, I did. Bigger in person."
The No. 12-rated player in the 2015 class earned a spot at The Opening at NIKE Headquarters from July 7-10. He says he'll get in the ear of a couple players while in Beaverton, Ore., including five-star defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie and four-star Calvin Ridley.
"I know (McKenzie)'s going to be at The Opening with me. I'm going to try to talk to him," Williams said.
"I tried to get Calvin Ridley but I think he committed to Bama. Me and him would be real good."
The pass-catcher's fiancé moves to Rocky Top in August. Williams says he'll visit Tennessee again in July and then again to help her in August.
