If ever there were two teams headed in different directions, it's Tennessee and Mississippi State. For instance: the Vols won their first four games this season, lost two straight and recovered to win three in a row to stand at 7-2, whereas, the Bulldogs lost four straight to start the year, won two in a row and have dropped their last three to stand at 2-7.

In it's last two games, Mississippi State has given up 12 touchdowns while the Vols haven't given up any. Tennessee's biggest wins were road games at Florida and Miami. Mississippi State's only wins were home games against Vanderbilt and Memphis. Their only common opponents to this point in the campaign are Auburn and Alabama.
