Colquitt was a first-team choice on both teams, while Wells garnered the
coaches' selection. Colquitt leads the league in punting and ranks fourth
nationally with a 45.9-yard average. He is a finalist for the Ray Guy Award
and has been named to All-America teams by both the Football Writers and
Walter Camp. Wells, a captain for the 10-2 Vols, has anchored the UT line
at center for four years and currently rides a streak of 48 consecutive
starts dating to the 2000 season.
Other Vols named All-SEC second team by the coaches were linebacker Kevin Burnett, tailback Cedric Houston, offensive tackle Michael Munoz,
linebacker Kevin Simon and strong safety Gibril Wilson. The writers tabbed
free safety Rashad Baker to their second team along with Simon, Wells and
Tennessee punter Dustin Colquitt and center Scott Wells earned
All-Southeastern Conference first-team nods to highlight release of the
coaches and Associated Press All-SEC squads.
