Parker featured at SI.com

Now that the 2006-07 University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball season is officially ended, their star player no longer is making dazzling baskets and nifty assists. She's still making headlines, though.

Candace Parker, who led UT to the national title five weeks ago, is featured in a Mothers' Day salute posted at sportsillustrated.com. In fact, the 6-5 sophomore leads off an 18-person photo essay featuring famous athletes. The essay is entitled "Athletes' Favorite Gifts to Mothers."

Along with a fetching photo of Parker is this comment from the Lady Vol standout:

"The best present I ever gave my mother was either when I went through our photo album and cut our pictures and made a scrap book of photos of us or when I surprised her and came home from college when she thought I wasn't going to be able to."

Meanwhile, The Knoxville News-Sentinel is reporting that Parker is now engaged to Atlanta Hawks forward Shelden Williams.
