Tabb surgery a success

Tennessee basketball athletic trainer Chad Newman reports that sophomore guard Josh Tabb underwent successful surgery to repair an orbital blow-out fracture to his right eye.

The outpatient procedure was performed Monday afternoon in Knoxville. Josh Tabb, who suffered the injury during practice on Tuesday, Oct. 16, is expected to be out for 7-10 days.

As a freshman in 2006-07 the Carbondale, Ill., product averaged 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17.6 minutes of action. He played in each of the Vols’ 35 games, earning three starting assignments along the way.
