Lady Vols advance to Elite Eight

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Tennessee ran into a determined Notre Dame team but used a second-half run to shed the Irish and move the Lady Vols into the Elite Eight with a berth to Tampa on the line next against Texas A&M. Candace Parker tied a career-high with 34 points, and Nicky Anosike had a double-double in the 74-64 win at the Ford Center on Sunday night.

"The season was on the line," senior wing Alberta Auguste said. "Everybody is trying to get to the Elite Eight. There's a big difference in regular season and tournament time. They played harder. They were 0-19, now 0-20, against us and I think they had a lot to prove tonight. We took advantage of our opportunities, and we won."
