Maharaj and Encina, who entered the tourney with a 2-5 record together this fall, cruised through their opening round match against Anson and Stafford from Kentucky, 8-1, and then outlasted Ole Miss' Basile and Harboe, 8-6. In the semifinals of the A draw, the pair pulled an 8-4 upset over No. 30 Hojnik and Wink of Georgia, 8-4, to advance to the final where they defeated Florida's Magley and Reyes, 8-6.
In the B draw of the doubles, Cleveland and Robards got things started with an 8-3 win over South Carolina's George and Kenoyer. The tandem blanked the combination of Auburn's Janska and Florida's Mikolich, 8-0, before defeating Koppelle and McElveen of Alabama, 8-3, to advance to the final. Cleveland and Robards snuck by Suzuki and Wiggins of South Carolina, 9-7, to take home the title and end their fall run with a 9-1 record.
The singles action saw freshman Melissa Schaub advance to the final of the C draw where she was scheduled to face Sabrina Peppl of Ole Miss, but excessive rain on Sunday cancelled all matches. Schaub reached the final with three straight set victories, first upending Ayako Suzuki of South Carolina, 6-1, 6-4. In the quarterfinals, Schaub posted a 7-5, 6-4 win over Shannon Stough of Kentucky and then took out Auburn's Sarah Suitor, 6-4, 6-4.
