Surgery for UT's Brimfield
William Brimfield

Posted May 2, 2008

Tennessee offensive tackle William Brimfield underwent successful ankle surgery Friday to correct damage sustained during last month’s spring practice.

Vols head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh expects the redshirt freshman to be limited during summer workouts and preseason camp, but Brimfield should be available for Tennessee’s Labor Day opener at UCLA.

Drs. Greg Mathien and Russell Betcher performed the surgery at UT Medical Center.

UT-UCLA KICKOFF SET

ABC and ESPN made the official announcement Friday that Tennessee’s Sept. 1 season opener at UCLA kicks off at 5 p.m. Pacific time (8 p.m. Eastern) on ESPN. The release was part of the Pacific-10 Conference television lineup.
