Daniel West is ineligible

Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl announced Monday that freshman guard Daniel West has been ruled ineligible and will not play for the Volunteers this season.

West has not practiced with the team since official team workouts began on Oct. 17 due to an eligibility clearance issue. The University of Tennessee learned of West’s ineligibility ruling late last week. The Saginaw, Mich., native did not dress for either of the team’s exhibition games last week.

West is currently still attending classes at UT, but a final decision on his future enrollment status has not been made.
