Kenny Hall signs with UT

Posted Nov 12, 2008

Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl announced Wednesday that Stone Mountain, Ga., native Kenny Hall signed a National Letter of Intent to attend UT and play for the Volunteers beginning in the 2009-10 season.

A 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward, Hall currently attends Redan High School in metro Atlanta and is expected to enroll at Tennessee next summer.

“Coaches tend to like guys who want to play for them,” Pearl said. “Kenny demonstrated early on that when the Vols had interest in him, he had interest in us. Given the fact that he committed to us last season, I feel like he’s already been a part of our family here for a long time.

“Kenny is a very productive, unselfish player who can do things offensively both inside and out. I’m excited about having him join our program, and I think our fans will love watching him play.”

As a junior last year at Redan, Hall averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game while leading the Raiders to a 14-win season. He also was a first-team selection on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s 2008 Georgia Class 5A All-State Team.

“We expect Kenny to have a stellar senior season under the direction of coach Dalton Greene, who’s done a great job of developing Kenny into a potential Mr. Basketball candidate in the state of Georgia,” Pearl said.

Hall is rated by Scout.com as a four-star prospect, the No. 9 power forward in the country and the No. 29 overall prospect nationally in the class of 2009.

Hall participated in the USA Basketball U18 Trials this past summer in Washington, D.C., and also played AAU?ball for the Georgia Stars.
