Head coach Phillip Fulmer continues to be impressed with the practice habits and attitudes of his charges in the midst of a disappointing season. He noted that, in particular, the offense had an excellent week of workouts.
"We were probably as sharp as we've been offensively this year," Fulmer said. "I hope it carries over into the ballgame and we can play that way."
Senior tailback Arian Foster returned to practice Thursday after missing the Wyoming game and the last five practices with a thigh bruise. Fulmer said that Montario Hardesty would start in the backfield, but Foster would be on the field often.
"It was good to get him back out here just to see his presence," Fulmer said. "He's been a tough guy in his time at Tennessee, and this has been one of the slower things to get him to return from."
Foster needs 227 yards in his last two games as a Vol to break the school's career rushing record of 3,078 yards held by Travis Henry. Thirty-nine yards on the ground will move him past James Stewart into second place on the all-time list.
Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised regionally by Raycom Sports.
