What follows is a recap of the most noteworthy plays from Saturday's Orange & White football game at Neyland Stadium:

- Jonathan Crompton made a fine throw on a 16-yard completion to tight end Luke Stocker.

- Tauren Poole wiggled through an opening up the gut for 18 yards.

- Montario Hardesty scored on a five-yard burst off left tackle.

- Toney Williams broke several tackles on a 27-yard ramble.

- Denarius Moore made a spectacular catch of his own deflection to complete a 25-yard reception from B. J. Coleman.

- Coleman found Brandon Warren on a nine-yard quick slant for a touchdown.

- Hardesty bolted for a 15-yard gain.

- Linebacker Rico McCoy intercepted a pass by Crompton, later termed a “miscommunication” by the QB.

- Nick Stephens hit Tyler Maples for 13 yards on a crossing route.

- Walk-on Ethan Ingham nailed a 44-yard field goal.

- Hardesty raced 12 yards.

- End Chris Walker sacked Crompton for a nine-yard loss.

- Crompton hit Quintin Hancock for a 22-yard gain on a third-and-19 situation.

- Poole rambled for 10 yards.

- Fullback Kevin Cooper made a nice catch of a low throw from Crompton and picked up six yards.

- Stocker dropped a potential three-yard TD pass.

- Poole found a seam and squirted forward for a gain of 12, then bounced outside for a pickup of 10 yards on the very next play.

- Coleman hit Todd Campbell for a gain of 18 yards.

Coleman connected with Denarius Moore on an 11-yard quick hitch.

- Linebacker Savion Frazier made a nice play to break up a Coleman pass.

- Coleman found Hancock for a gain of 13, then hit walk-on tight end Jeremy Jester for a gain of 19.

- A 10-yard Coleman-to-Moore touchdown pass was nullified by an ineligible-receiver-downfield penalty. The Vols wound up settling for a 37-yard Ingham field goal.

- Crompton hit tight end Ben Bartholomew for a gain of 11.

- Cornerback Art Evans made a nice recovery to break up a fourth-down Crompton bomb intended for Gerald Jones.

- Defensive end Stephen Fowlkes hit Stephens just as he threw, causing an errant pass.

- Stephens hit Brandon Warren for gains of 12, 24 and 5 yards, with the last one capping a five-play, 50-yard TD drive that concluded the first half.

- End Rae Sykes sacked Stephens for a loss of six.

- Stephens hooked up with walk-on tailback C.J. Jackson for a 14-yard gain, then hit Gerald Jones for a 24-yard pickup on the next play.

- No. 1 place-kicker Daniel Lincoln missed a 30-yard field goal, his only attempt of the day.

- Savion Frazier nearly intercepted a Stephens pass on second-and-one, then stuffed Tauren Poole for no gain on third-and-one.

- Coleman made a great throw to Hancock on a deep out, resulting in a 16-yard gain but missed a wide-open Stocker on the very next play.

- Coleman found Hancock for an 18-yard pickup and hit walk-on tight end Ben Lehning for a gain of 22.

- Defensive tackle Victor Thomas batted a Coleman pass that was nearly intercepted by mid-term freshman linebacker Nigel Mitchell-Thornton.

- Walk-on linebacker Shane Reveiz stopped Poole for a loss of two yards on third-and-goal at the 2-yard line.

- Coleman deftly avoided a pass rusher, then flipped a four-yard pass to Hancock, who managed to drag his toes in the right corner of the end zone for a touchdown.

- A Crompton screen pass to Toney Williams picked up 11 yards and a toss to Denarius Moore netted another 11.

- Poole burst outside for 18 yards.

- Art Evans made a nice break on the ball to break up a Crompton pass intended for Gerald Jones.

- Crompton hit Austin Rogers, who made a nifty cut to complete a 16-yard touchdown play.
