For one University of Tennessee 2010 commitment recruiting has gotten interesting since his pledge to the Orange and White.
"A lot of people are starting to show interest since I committed to UT," Jose told InsideTennessee.com Sunday afternoon. "It's like the offer from them and the my pledge to them gave my recruiting a boost."
Jose so far hasn't been phased by the attention.
"My commitment to the University of Tennessee is solid," Jose said. "There is no better place for me as far as the depth chart is concern and no better place to prepare me for the next level."
While Jose hasn't seen the campus in Knoxville yet, he plans on taking care of that sometime this summer.
"We are planning on taking a trip up there to see everything and meet all the coaches," Jose said. "I'm really looking forward to the trip. Hopefully it will happen before the first of August."
Currently Jose is working hard this summer to improve his game for his final high school season.
"I'm running everyday," Jose said. "I'm trying to lose a little weight and gain some strength this summer."
Jose has one goal for his tenure in Knoxville.
"I want to be a part of a national championship at the University of Tennessee," Jose said. "That's one reason I chose this team, with the coaching staff they have in place we will definitely be in the running for one in the next couple of years."
Jose keeps in constant contact with the Tennessee coaching staff.
"I call Coach Gran a lot," Jose said. "We talk a lot. He is very easy to talk to and is always interested in how my family is doing and how I'm doing in school. He shows a lot of interest in me personally, not just football."
According to Jose, the Vol coaching staff is very excited about his decision to attend UT.
"They keep telling me how fired up they that I'm coming," Jose said. "They tell me to keep working hard in the classroom and in the weight room. They keep telling me that I'm going to be a part of something special at their school, I can't wait."
