Usually recruiting slows down during the summer months, for one Louisiana athlete, just the opposite has occurred since he made an early commitment to the University of Tennessee.

For Risean Broussard his interest and recruiting has sky rocketed since picking up an early offer from the Volunteers.

"I have over eight offers now," Broussard told InsideTennessee.com "Nebraska and Michigan are my latest two. UT offered first, everyone else has followed with offers after that."

Tennessee coaches Frank Wilson and Ed Orgeron played a big part in Broussard's early decision to become a Vol.

"Those two coaches are like family to me," Broussard said. "Coach O is one of the best defensive line coaches in the country. I trust those guys to take good care of me and to prepare me for the next level."

Broussard had hoped to make it to Knoxville this summer for a camp or two, but that wasn't possible for the talented defender.

"I wanted to camp at UT but wasn't able to make it up there," Broussard said. "I went to a Nike Camp and a couple of 7-on-7 camps with my high school team."

While Broussard is looking for his future on the college level, he currently is focused on having the best senior season possible.

"I'm very excited about my senior year," Broussard said. "I want to be the very best I can be. I'm looking to have a big year."

Broussard currently has offers from Tennessee, Nebraska, Michigan, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Alabama and Oregon. UT was his first official offer.

How does Broussard feel about his pledge to Tennessee?

"I feel really good about it," Broussard said. "I feel really strong about it, I'm sticking with UT."
