One of Florida's top high school prospects wasn't sure what to think when his phone rang at 7:20 a.m. this morning.

Ft. Lauderdale defensive back Cody Riggs, a four star prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas High School realized that college coaches could start calling on September1, what he didn't know was who would be the first school to call.

"Tennessee was my first call this morning," Riggs told InsideTennessee.com. "It was Coach Eddie Gran calling me. We talked about football, how my season was going and how important I was to their recruiting class."

According to Riggs, Gran and Lane Kiffin told the talented cornerback that they had one corner spot open and that they were holding it for him.

"I like UT a lot," Riggs said. "They are doing something right up there. Some great athletes are decommitting from other schools to go to Tennessee. I want to see what's going on up there."

Riggs was also impressed that Tennessee was the first to call.

"They told me I was on top of their call list," Riggs said. "It shows me that I'm really important to them. Getting my first call from them is impressive."

Riggs has already planned his official visit to Knoxville.

"I will be there in two weeks for the UCLA ballgame, I can't wait," Riggs said. "It should be a great game and a great environment."

One other school was scheduled to call later this evening, that school was Notre Dame.

Riggs already has one current teammate committed to the Vols in Michael Palardy.
