With apologies to David Letterman, here are the top 10 reasons Ole Miss beat Tennessee 42-17 Saturday in Oxford:

10. The Vols were distracted after having three freshman teammates arrested on Thursday morning - none of whom made the trip.

9. UT's patchwork offensive line got very little push against Ole Miss' rugged defensive front.

8. Tennessee's defense missed safety Janzen Jackson more than the Rebels' defense missed end Greg Hardy.

7. Dexter McCluster

6. The Vols bit on every misdirection play Ole Miss ran.

5. The Rebels picked Saturday to play up to their preseason top-10 ranking.

4. Dexter McCluster

3. The absent-minded Vols forgot how to tackle.

2. Down just 21-17 in the third quarter, the Vols' couldn't cash in on Wes Brown's interception at the Ole Miss 43-yard line.
