Hardesty's longest run from scrimmage was his 20-yarder for the winning TD as the Vols won their 25th straight against the Wildcats. The senior scored on touchdown runs of 9 and 13 yards in the first half, but had 116 of his rushing yards after the break.
Over his last two games against Vanderbilt and Kentucky, Hardesty combined for 71 rushes, 350 yards and four touchdowns. With 1,306 rushing yards for the season, Hardesty stands only 158 yards shy of Tennessee's season record of 1,464 set by Travis Stephens in 2001.
Hardesty was joined on the SEC's weekly honor roll by Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, who accounted for 311 of the Gators' 545 total offensive yards in a 37-10 win over Florida State.
Other weekly winners from the SEC were Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain (defense), LSU placekicker Josh Jasper (special teams), Florida guard Mike Pouncey (offensive lineman), South Carolina tackle Ladi Ajiboye (co-defensive lineman), Mississippi State end Pernell McPhee (co-defensive lineman), and Georgia tailback Washaun Ealey (freshman).
Tennessee tailback Montario Hardesty is this week's co-winner of the SEC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing 39 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns -- all career highs -- in the Vols' 30-24 overtime win at Kentucky.
