Prater looking at Tennessee due to USC change
One of the nation's top players is in limbo after rumors swirled that USC Coach Pete Carroll was leaving the Trojans for the NFL. Kyle Prater, the No. 2 wide receiver in the nation and a five star prospect, was scheduled to enroll at USC this week. Now the Scout.com five star prospect is uncertain of his plans. InsideTennessee.com caught up with Prater Sunday morning to get his thoughts on his current situation. "It's messed up," Prater said. "Pete Carroll was the main reason I chose USC. Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I'm headed home right now to sit down and talk to his parents about the situation." One uncertainty that surrounds Prater is his plans for the future. "I'm supposed to enroll tomorrow at USC," Prater said. "Instead I'm headed back home to figure out what to do. I'm not sure whether I will sit out a year or try to get enrolled another school in a week's time." There are two schools that Prater said he is interested in to perhaps take USC's place. "Right now I'm thinking about taking a visit to Tennessee perhaps in the near future," Prater said. "Illinois is the other school that I'm interested in." According to Prater, there are several reasons that he is interested in the Volunteer Football Program. "I like Coach Lane Kiffin a lot," Prater said. "I love what he is building at Tennessee. He has put together a great recruiting class; they are building something nice there." Another reason that Prater likes about Tennessee is a couple of the Vols current commitments. "I have developed a great relationship with Markeith Ambles, we have become really good friends," Prater said. "Zach Fulton family and my family are close friends." Stay tuned for Prater's story, he will let InsideTennessee.com know when he plans to make a visit to Knoxville, perhaps as soon as this week.
