One Texas safety prospect is looking for a new home.
Long time Oklahoma commitment Eddrick Loften confirmed with InsideTennessee.com Monday night that he had indeed decommitted from the Sooners.
“I decommitted from them last week,” Loften said. “They didn’t want me taking any other visits. When I told them that I planned on it, they pulled my scholarship.”
Oklahoma’s loss appears to be possibly Tennessee and Kansas advantage.
The four star safety will take an official visit to Rocky Top this weekend and to Kansas on the 29th of January.
While Loften admitted not knowing much about the Tennessee Football program, the one thing he is fully aware of all the accolades that Vol Safety Eric Berry picked up this past season.
“I know what kind of career Eric Berry had at Tennessee the past three years,” Loften said. “I know he is going to the league early.”
Loften is looking forward to seeing the campus and getting to know the rest of the Tennessee coaching staff and current team.
“Coach Willie Mack Garza has been great recruiting me,” Loften said. “He has been telling how great it is at Tennessee. I’m excited to get the opportunity to check things out first hand this weekend.”
Does Loften have an offer yet from Tennessee?
“No not yet,” Loften said. “I’m hoping for one this weekend.”
