According to a published report, Emmanuel Negedu won't be playing basketball at Indiana this fall.

The Knoxville News reported that Indiana University doctors cleared the 6'7", 235-pound sophomore to play, but school administrators won't. That decision has the former Tennessee Vol and Indiana Elite standout still looking for a college to resume his playing career.

The 21-year-old Negedu suffered cardiac arrest during a Sept. 28, 2009, workout on the Tennessee campus. After being revived by the UT medical staff, he was hospitalized and had a sub-pectoral implantable cardiac defibrillator placed in his chest a week later.

Negedu didn't play at UT last season, and Tennessee athletic officials won't clear him to return to the court as well.

Despite the decisions by both Tennessee and Indiana, Negedu still has a handful of options. The Knoxville News reported that New Mexico, UTEP, Nebraska, UNLV, Arizona and Memphis have all expressed interest. He'll also be aided by the fact that all three doctors who have evaluated him in recent months - those at UT, IU and a specialist in California – have all cleared his return.
