One of Florida's top defensive ends has already scheduled an official visit to Rocky Top.
Venice's defensive end Clay Burton confirmed with InsideTennessee.com that he indeed received an official offer from the Vols and has interest in the UT football program.
"I was really impressed that Tennessee offered me," Burton said. "They have a great football program with a lot of traditions. They have a new young coaching staff. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to getting to know them a lot better."
Burton has already scheduled an official visit to Rocky Top.
"I'm taking an official visit to Tennessee for the Florida game," Burton said. "I can't wait to see that game day atmosphere there for that one. I hear it's crazy."
Burton is being recruited to Tennessee by Quarterbacks Coach Darin Hinshaw.
"I have spoken to Coach Hinshaw on a couple of occasions, I called him to learn more about their program," Burton said. "I'm looking forward to my first trip to Knoxville."
Are there any early favorites for Burton, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound athlete?
Burton feels some of his strengths include his wide open motor and his quickness off the edge.
The talented defender hopes to make a final decision some time during his senior season.
