As usual, the Pilot Rocky Top League will have a distinctly orange flavor.

Ten players who are scheduled to play for the 2010-11 Basketball Vols were selected in Wednesday night's summer league draft. Junior wing Scotty Hopson was the second player picked, following former Vol C.J. Watson, now a point guard for the NBA's Golden State Warriors. Sophomore forward Kenny Hall was pick No. 3.

Boo Jackson, an Eastern Michigan grad who was the 2009 Rocky Top MVP, was the fourth player picked, followed by two more Vols - junior wing Cameron Tatum and senior point guard Melvin Goins.

Brian Williams, Tennessee's 6-10, 270-pound senior center, was the opening pick of Round 2, followed by former Vols Tyler Smith and Chris Lofton. D'Mario Curry of Lincoln Memorial was the fourth pick in Round 2, followed by ex-Vol Dane Bradshaw and current Vol forward Renaldo Woolridge.

Skylar McBee, who earned a UT scholarship with a solid freshman season last winter, was the lead pick in Round 3. Incoming Vol signees Jordan McRae (pick 6, round 3) and Trae Golden (pick 3, round 4) went next, followed by Tennessee senior Steven Pearl (pick 4, round 5).

The Rocky Top League also will feature a host of former UT players. In addition to Watson, Smith and Lofton, the ex-Vols include Dane Bradshaw (pick 5, round 2), Damon Johnson (pick 6, round 4), Jon Higgins (pick 3, round 5, Ron Slay (pick 6, round 5, Wayne Chism (pick 5, round 6) and C.J. Black (pick 2, round 8).

The 6-9, 240-pound Chism would've been selected considerably higher, of course, except that he is expected to spend much of his summer trying to make an NBA roster - thereby limiting the time he'll have available to play in the Rocky Top League.

Rocky Top teams are limited to no more than two current Vols per roster but every squad has at least one.

DeRoyal Industries features two current Vols (Goins, Williams), one former Vol (Slay) and one future Vol (McRae). First Tennessee Bank has two current Vols (Hall, McBee) and a former Vol (Higgins). Ray's ESG has one current Vol (Pearl), one former Vol (Lofton) and one future Vol (Golden).

Everyone else has one current Vol and two former Vols. Richardson Construction's roster features Woolridge, plus old hands Watson and Damon Johnson. The News-Sentinel roster has Hopson, along with Bradshaw and Chism. Choice Spine has Tatum, plus UT alumni Smith and Black.

The Pilot Rocky Top League tips off Tuesday, June 15 at 7 in Bearden High School Gym with three games on tap. Admission is free.
