One Georgia defensive end left Rocky Top very impressed.

Chattahoochee High School athlete Barron Dixon camped at Tennessee on Wednesday with the UT football program.

"I got there a little late, that didn't matter to them. They threw me right into the action," Dixon told InsideTennessee.com. "I really like the UT coaching staff, you can really tell they are great coaches."

One of the coaches that made an impression on the 6-foot-4, 264-pound defensive end/defensive tackle was former Vol defensive standout Chuck Smith.

"Coach Smith was great. He taught me several new moves just in a day's time," Dixon said. "He is great, really cool."

Dixon currently holds eight official offers, but still hasn't received one from the Vols.

"I got the opportunity to sit down and visit with Coach Derek Dooley," Dixon said. "He told me that they will be evaluating my film and will let me know about a possible offer. I think that I may end up getting one from them."

Currently, he has offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland, Louisville and Cincinnati, and Middle Tennessee State.

One thing caught the Georgia athlete off guard.

"This camp was a lot more physical and intense from any other I have attended," Dixon said. "Some guys might not like that, but I loved it."

Where does Tennessee stand with Dixon?

"They're pretty much close to the top of my favorite's list," Dixon said. "I loved the campus, the stadium was incredible and they probably have the best locker room of any schools I have seen."
