One Memphis prospect is in the getting-to-know-you stage with the University of Tennessee.

InsideTennessee.com was the first to break the news of Tino Thomas' offer last week, and he earned that nod by what he called an outstanding day at the Vols camp.

"It's an exciting offer for me," Thomas told InsideTennessee.com. "Tennessee is a great school."

Thomas, a 6-foot, 190-pound athlete, apparently impressed the UT coaches with his work ethic and his speed.

"I ran a 4.41 forty at the Tennessee camp," Thomas said. "The coaches told me that they loved how I gave it my all in the drills. Coach Dooley was quick to call me in his office after it was over."

With the Tennessee official offer, Thomas is currently holding eight official offers.

"Right now my offers are Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Duke, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State," Thomas said. "Tennessee is recruiting me to play corner or safety."

Currently, Thomas is uncertain of the timeframe of his decision-making process.

"I'm not sure when I will make a decision," Thomas said. "I might wait until after my senior season. Right now I just don't know. It could happen sooner."

One thing for sure is that Tennessee stacks up well for his services.

"Tennessee is definitely my favorite right now, they are holding the top spot for now," Thomas said. "I want to watch a game at Tennessee with their new coaching staff. To see what type schemes they run, etc. I really felt at home there. They showed me a lot of love."

Thomas is anxious to see how Tennessee performs under the direction of the new coaching staff.

"I think they are going to do really well," Thomas said. "I want to see how they come together as a team. I want to see how some of their younger players get a chance to play early."
