LOUIS, Mo. – When Taber Spani was a sophomore in high school the interest from colleges seemed to expand daily, but there were two notable exceptions, namely Tennessee and Connecticut. When the sharpshooter told her father she wanted to play for the best his reply was blunt: “The best is not recruiting you.” Her reply was a harbinger of what was to come: “If I’m good enough, they’ll find me.”
