| Baker looms as a serious candidate for All-SEC honors after starting 22 consecutive games at free safety. A heralded wideout in high school, he caught 37 balls for 730 yards as a senior. Since switching to safety, however, he clearly has found a home on the defensive side of the scrimmage line. 2001 - Led the Vols in interceptions (4), while ranking third in pass breakups (7) and third in total tackles (71). Also returned 26 punts for a 9.1 yard average. Started all 13 games. 2000 - Began the season as a wide receiver but was switched to free safety due to UT’s lack of depth at the position. Started Game 3 vs. Louisiana-Monroe and every game thereafter ... nine games in all. |
