| Locked in a battle with Mondre Dickerson and Demetrin Veal for the starting job opposite Constantin Ritzmann, Hand figures to play a lot whether he starts or relieves. Blessed with excellent pass-rush skills , he is improving against the run. 2001 - Started Games 1 and 2 vs. Syracuse and Arkansas before surrendereing first-team berth to senior Bernard Jackson. Recorded 10 tackles, 11 assists and 21 total stops on the season. Three of his tackles were minus-yardage stops. He also registered four quarterback hurries. 2000 -Played in all 12 games as Will Overstreet’s chief backup after starting the season as an outside linebacker. Recorded a sack and a fumble caused against Southern Mississippi in the opener. Returned a fumble recovery three yards against Arkansas, setting up a first-quarter TD. Season stats included seven solo stops, six assists and 1.5 sacks. ... 1999 - Played sparingly, mostly on special teams, and recorded one unassisted tackle for the season. |
