Biography:
Played in 29 games as a freshman at Tennessee. Elgrace will play a major part in Tennessee’s paint-game in the upcoming season. Averaged 0.57 blocks per game in Southeastern Conference games. Tied his career-high with 10 points in 19 minutes of play against South Carolina (1/23/02). Had eight rebounds in just 13 minutes of action at No. 7 Alabama (2/16/02). Scored a career-high 10 points to go with eight rebounds and three blocks against Middle Tennessee State (1/21/02). Had his best game against an SEC foe at Georgia (1/12/02) when he had five points, five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Helped give the Vols four important rebounds late in their win over eighth-ranked Syracuse (1/19/02). Barely missed his first career double-double with a nine point, 11 rebound effort against Alaska Anchorage (11/23/01) at the Great Alaska Shootout. He averaged 6.0 points and 6.0 rebounds at the three-game tournament. Earned his first career start while playing in the first collegiate game of his career against Tennessee Tech (11/16/01). Had 20 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in Tennessee’s first exhibition game against EA Sports. Pressed into starting duty for the Vols’ exhibition games due to Tennessee’s plethora of injuries during the preseason.

Averaged 14.0 points, 16.1 rebounds and 6.6 blocks per game as a senior at Springfield South. Led the Wildcats to a 15-5 record and an appearance in the Division I district title game. Earned all-state honors. First team all-league selection and the league’s Player of the Year. Earned special mention on the Ohio Boys Division I All-State Team. Listed as a Top 100 player according to some recruiting publications. Rated by Prep Spotlight Magazine as the No. 3 power forward in Ohio and a top 40 player on the publication’s "Best of the Midwest" rankings. Earned a reputation as one of the hardest working players in the nation. Led Springfield South to a 10-4 record while averaging 12.5 points, 13.1 rebounds and 5.0 blocks as a junior. Recorded a 44-inch vertical leap prior to his senior season in high school. Attended the prestigious Nike Camp in Indianapolis, Ind., the summer before his final year as a prep. Coached by Larry Ham.
