2000 - Graduated early from high school and enrolled at UT in time for spring practice. Supplanted A.J. Suggs as first-team QB in Game 6 vs. Alabama. Went on to earn third-team Freshman All-America recognition from The Sporting News after completing 121 of 194 passes for 1,473 yards and 15 touchdowns. First career pass was a 19-yard touchdown throw to David Martin against Louisiana-Monroe. Made his first career start three games later vs. Bama, completing 17 of 24 attempts for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
