Buckeyes offer Scout 300 DB

Ohio State found a new prospect it liked this week and it offered him a scholarship Saturday afternoon...

JoeJuan Williams is a versatile defensive back and the Ohio State Buckeyes see something in him it likes.

The Buckeye coaching staff likes it enough to offer a scholarship.

"I talked to Coach [Tim] Hinton (Tight ends/Fullbacks) and Coach [Urban] Meyer (Head coach) and Ohio State offered me," said Williams Saturday afternoon. "I talked with Coach Hinton for a long time and he said he made the whole defensive coaching staff watch my film Friday, then the head coach said I could play anywhere in the secondary -- corner or safety.

"It is great to have an Ohio State offer and it is committable anytime."

Williams, a 2016 four-star on Scout has double-digit offers already and he is one of the best in the country in the secondary.

The 6-foot-1, 200 pound junior out of Nashville (Tenn.) Father Ryan now plans to visit the Buckeyes.

"I will be up there for a game this year for sure. I like their program a lot and they have great coaches.

"I do not have any leaders yet, but I have a lot of interest in them."

Scout ranks Williams the No. 13 safety in the country.
